10 social distancing screen designs to use in your office building
The current COVID crisis has changed the way we work and there is no doubt that more adjustments are on the way. Offices are some of the places that entail social interaction on a daily basis and will require a series of preventative measures to help minimise the spread of the virus as people slowly start returning to work.
The current official guidance suggests, amongst others, using screens or barriers to separate people from each other and ensure that social distancing rules are respected anywhere we go.
Social distancing screens for open offices
1. Simple office desktop screen - Fixed
Used as a screen between desks, this desk divider uses flanges to fix to the desk. It can be used with a transparent screen or an opaque material for extended privacy.
2. U-shaped desk partition screen
This U-shaped cough screen fixes onto the desk, offering the user protection from the front and the sides.
3. H-shaped divider
This freestanding divider separates two desks, while offering shielding from the sides too.
This design can be used with a raised middle screen to facilitate the exchange of documents for example and could be used in a meeting room.
4. Freestanding partition
This freestanding partition can be used to create new office space or place barriers between existing desks in the light of the new social distancing rules.
5. Freestanding PLUS-shaped divider
This freestanding divider can be used to separate clusters of desks. You can design this to any height, length and depth you need.
6. Freestanding multi desk divider
This multi divider will separate clusters of desks while adding extra protection on the sides of each desk.
Partitions for break rooms
7. Freestanding social distancing screens
These screens are completely freestanding and use plexiglass to ensure that enough distance is kept between employees in larger rooms such as break rooms or communal working areas.
Cough screens for the reception area
8. Simple fixed cough guard
Our simple cough guard design can be used in the reception area too. The plexiglass screen can be placed up or down the frame, leaving as much space as you need underneath it, depending on your needs.
9. Enclosed cough guard
This L-shaped cough guard is used to minimise the risk of viruses and germs for both the reception staff and visitors. By using these fixed uprights, you can create any variety of cough screen layouts to suit your business.
10. Freestanding half height cough guard
Use this freestanding cough shield where fixed cough screens cannot be used. The metal frame goes over the counter and you’ve got the option to place the mid bar up or down the frame to accommodate the height of your reception desk.
Adding plexiglass screens
Our designs use M50 fittings to help attach plexiglass screens to the frames.
You can purchase a variety of pre-cut clear screens online or have some built to your specific requirements. For example, we found these clear polystyrene sheets at B&Q:
