DIY children’s desk with shelves
If you are looking for a Scandinavian style desk that also includes storage space, then take inspiration from interior stylist Jenny Meerman, who built this simple, yet beautiful piece of furniture for her son’s bedroom.
Structure
The structure of this Nordic style desk can be built using Kee Klamp fittings and tube.
Use scaffolding planks or any reclaimed wook boards for the shelves and desk to save money.
What fittings you need
To build the structure for this DIY desk, you will need:
75-7 fittings are optional. Use them to create distance between the tube and scaffolding planks and for extra support.
On top of that, have 2 wood planks cut to size for the shelves, as well as a bigger one for the actual desk.
Result
The final result will be a work station that is easy to put together, take apart or modify when the kids grow up.
Easy to modify or disassemble
A modular system such as pipe and fittings allows for easy structural modifications: you can add or remove fittings to raise, lower or completely modify the desk. You can also reuse these for other pieces of furniture once you decide you don’t like the original desk anymore.
Try it yourself
If you feel inspired, it is easy to build your own DIY desk using pipe and fittings and we can help you design the furniture you need.
