Glass Topped Standing Desk

standing desk

As you all may know, I am a strong advocate for standing desks, so It was interesting to receive a phone call from someone who had been recommended a standing desk by their GP.

Our customer had suffered an accident that limited his mobility for a number of months and found that he could not exercise as much as he would have liked. He consulted with his Doctor, who suggested a standing desk to replace his conventional one and when the client had a look at the options on the market, he discovered that the range was limited.

Kee Klamp Work Bench

DIY work bench

I recently had the pleasure of helping out at the Polish office, while they were showing me around their impressive building, I noted this work bench in the warehouse, I insisted on taking a 2 minute break so I could grab some pics.

Broadly built around the design of our Standard Table Kit, the work bench also has an additional upright for additional support for the table top and also includes additional support struts for a top shelf, I really liked the simplicity and how the wood/industrial feel compliments each other.

Creating And Designing My Own Standing Desk

standing desks

I have been thinking a lot about standing desks again, my long commute combined with my hectic lifestyle, doesn’t leave a lot of time for exercise (that’s my excuse and I am sticking with it.).

After investing in a cross trainer which sees about an hour of use a week, the rest of its time being used as an expensive coat rack, I started to wonder about ways of burning a few extra calories when I suddenly remembered from my prior research into standing desks that you use 0.7 calories a minute by just standing instead of sitting.

DIY Garden Furniture

Images courtesy of: and

I don’t know about you but I am starting to feel a bit of a late bloomer, but I am yet to have my first barbeque of the summer, weather wise, there has been plenty of opportunity but sadly I keep putting it off, my main excuse being that there is nowhere for people to sit, I started to think about garden furniture, so again I went to pinterest for ideas, here is a collection of my favourites.
